I needed something that could handle a whole website all at once. It began with 100 pages that needed some SEO work. Not even major stuff, just the common elements. I had to search, fix, and try to optimize the titles, metadata, image alt-elements for what amounted to 100 pages. I had to open each one, look at the data, check
the html, look for all the img elements hiding down in the source. Slow, Slow, SLOW! There had to be a better way, but I couldn't find a single tool online to really do what I wanted on the budget
with which I had to work.
I needed something that could show me at a glance which pages were missing/broken. Yes. It took me a full 5 minutes to clean up one page, on average this wasn't the case - but when you are only the third page on a site, it can
be disheartening to think that you could be working on the same task for the next 2 days. Not only that, but did I really fix the problem on page 45? Did I miss something? Was there an img off the
the left of my editor's margin? Check and recheck, and you'll still miss it. I needed something that would reassure me that I was moving foreward
I needed color coded warnings and errors. Is this broken? or just a UI issue? I needed something that would show me the problems in hind-brain simple ways. I want to
see errors in red, warnings in yellow, and a nice happy green checkmark telling me we're good to go.
I needed to see how I was linking to pages on my sites, and how others linked to me. Beyond just Google page rank, I added the ability to see the
link text from pages on my site (oops, I forgot to remove that page, now where did that link come from?) I also wanted to see what kind of link text other people are using to
come to my website.
